I am Nouman from Pakistan. I am a TEFL-certified teacher of the English language. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and am currently pursuing my MPhil in English Linguistics.
I created saraikiustad.com to help English learners improve their pronunciation, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, and real-life communication in a simple and practical way. The main purpose of this blog is to tackle common English-learning problems in a straightforward manner, especially the problems many Pakistani learners face.
- Although this blog is created mainly for Urdu-speaking and Pakistani English learners, students from all around the world can benefit from it
The Problem
Many Pakistani learners understand English grammar and can form correct sentences, but they still struggle to produce English speech naturally and clearly. One major reason is that pronunciation is often ignored in schools, colleges, and even many available English courses.
Because learners are not properly taught the unique sounds of English, they often fill the gap by using the sounds of their own native languages. These sounds may seem identical to English sounds, but in reality, they are often articulated (produced) differently.
As a result, many learners can speak grammatically correct English, but their speech still carries strong influence from Urdu, Punjabi, Saraiki, Pashto, or another first language.
This blog focuses especially on helping learners understand how English sounds actually work. My aim is not to shame local accents, but to help learners become more intelligible, easy to understand, and confident when speaking English
